CESBEM

About CESBEM

The CESBEM Project (COMPETENCE ENHANCEMENT IN SUSTAINABLE BUILDING THROUGH EUROPEAN MOBILITY ) is aimed at those in the Construction Sector and provide upskilling in the field of energy efficiency in buildings.  Training will be hosted by KOMZET Germany, (Centre of Vocational Excellence in Energy Efficiency in Buildings), with a special emphasis on timber frame construction.   Training will be over a two week period and a total of 80 people will be trained as part of the project.
The project is in line with

  • Ireland’s commitments to reduce energy consumption in the residential sector as part of achieving a 20% energy saving target by 2020.
  • Revised building regulations with improved energy efficiency standards.
  • Changes in the construction sector requiring additional upskilling of those involved in the sector
  • Energy rating of dwellings now being a legal requirement in Ireland.

The expected results of the project are:

  • 80 people acquiring new theoretical and practical knowledge in energy efficiency in buildings,
  • upskilling the participants so that they can apply the new construction techniques in line with the EPBD and acquire an understanding of the way this is implemented in a different country,
  • building networks between the training and the business worlds in Germany and Ireland
  • improving the quality and increasing the volume of mobility through Europe.
